Key rate: The Prime Index is a U.S.-based index that is directly related to changes in the Federal Reserve Board.

The Prime is usually used as a price index for shortterm or medium-term credits, which can be either firm or variable. The Libor rate: LIBOR is the interest rate at which a bank makes available to another party monies (wholesale money) on the global exchange markets. The index is usually used for short-term variable interest rate applications.

Swapping rate: Swaps rates are obtained by summing a spreads to the corresponding LIBOR or Treasuries index to determine an interest rate for a given maturity. Usually this is used for shortterm to medium-term borrowings. Treasurer rate: Also known as the Treasurer's Rate of Return, a U.S.-based index derived from the actual rate of returns on U.S. Treasuries (i.e., promissory note, bond, bond) over certain times.
